Seiko began its rich history in 1881 when Kintaro Hattori opened a shop to repair and sell watches in central Tokyo.  Eleven years later, he opened a factory called the Seikosha Factory and began building wall
clocks and pocket watches.  After an earthquake and fire destroyed the original factory, Hattori reopened with a new vision, which became the beginnings of what we know as Seiko today.  A true pioneer in
watchmaking, Seiko developed the first Japanese-made divers watch.

The Seiko Prospex SPB143 features a 40mm stainless case with a domed sapphire crystal and a black unidirectional rotating bezel with a 60-minute scale.  The dial is a sunburst pattern charcoal grey with
lumed hour markers, lumed hands, and a date window at the three o’clock position.  Powered by a Caliber 6R35 movement, the SP143 features a
70-hour power reserve and a 200-meter water resistance rating.
