The History:

Ball Watch Company was started in 1891 by Webster Clay Ball in Cleveland, Ohio. Originally a jeweler, Ball was appointed as Chief Time Inspector for the Lake Shore Lines Railroad and set up tests and standards for all watches used by trains to coordinate their travel on the shared rail lines. His criteria for reliability and accuracy made not only train travel safe across the United States but inspired the standards used around the world, including the COSC.

The Watch:

The Ball Engineer Hydrocarbon DeepQuest 3000 features a 44 mm Titanium monoblock case with a sapphire crystal. The DeepQuest 3000 is powered by a modified ETA 2824-2 movement, which has received COSC certification. The black dial is multi-level and features unique glass-enclosed tubes filled with self-charging tritium gas for the lume on the hour markers and hands. The unidirectional bezel is also titanium, with a lumed counter scale.
