About This Watch:
Named after Jackson Park in Chicago, the Jackson, from American micro-brand Oak and Oscar, is a unique timepiece with vintage styling and a manual wind flyback chronograph movement. Released in 2017 as a limited run of only 400 pieces with three different case and dial configurations, the Jackson features a two-register chronograph dial configuration with a twist. The 3 o’clock register features a stacked design for the 12-hour and 30-minute totalizers, which gives you display for both in one register, leaving the 9 o’clock register to display the running seconds.
The History: Born out of a desire to create his own watch brand, Chase Fancher created Oak & Oscar in 2015. Named after his love of fine-aged whiskey in oak barrels and the family dog, Mr. Fancher brings his love of his hometown of Chicago into every timepiece by naming each piece after historical figures and locations in the Windy City. Collaborating with local artisans such as the Horoween Leather Company and Stock Mfg, also based in Chicago, Oak & Oscar has created an independent watch brand that is truly proud of its roots.
The Watch: The Jackson Flyback Chronograph features a 40mm stainless steel case with a sapphire crystal and an exhibition case back. Powered by a manual wind Eterna Calibre 3916M movement, the Jackson has a 60-hour power reserve and a water resistance rating of 50 meters. The grey dial features a tachymeter scale in the light grey rehaut, with two sub-dials at the 3 and 9 o’clock positions. The 3 o'clock sub-dial features both the 30-minute and 12-hour totalizers by stacking the hands, with the grey hand counting the minutes and the white hand counting the hours. The 9 o’clock sub-dial features the running seconds counter, and a date window is located at the 6 o’clock position. Orange accents around the 3 o’clock sub-dial and the bright orange chronograph hand provide contrast and depth to the Jackson dial.
The Details: This Jackson Flyback Chronograph is number 74 of 150 pieces done in the grey dial with stainless steel case variation. The case and brushed, fixed bezel are in good condition, with some minor wear visible in the photos. This timepiece comes with the Oak & Oscar leather watch case, orange leather rally strap with stainless steel signed buckle, brown leather strap with signed buckle, Oak & Oscar strap changing tool, and an additional orange canvas strap with stainless steel tang-style buckle.
