Seiko began its rich history in 1881 when Kintaro Hattori opened a shop in central Tokyo, repairing and selling watches.  Eleven years later, he established the Seikosha Factory and began manufacturing wall clocks and pocket watches.  After an earthquake and fire destroyed the original factory, Hattori reopened with a new vision, marking the beginning of what is now known as Seiko.  A true pioneer in watchmaking, Seiko developed the first Japanese-made divers’ watch.

The Seiko Prospex 1965 U.S. Special Edition SPB421 features a 40.5mm stainless steel case with a sapphire crystal and a unidirectional rotating bezel with a dark blue insert. The deep blue dial is patterned and gradated to mimic the icy surface of the Alaska Moulins mountain ranges.  The dial features applied lumed hour markers, a lumed handset, and a date window at the 3 o’clock position.  Powered by the automatic Caliber 6R35 movement, the SPB421 has a 70-hour power reserve and a water resistance rating of 200 meters.

Included with this Seiko Prospex SPB421 are the original outer and inner boxes, the instruction manual, the warranty booklet, the warranty card dated July 2025, the hang tags, and the original stainless steel Seiko bracelet.
