Seiko began its rich history in 1881, when Kintaro Hattori opened a shop repairing and selling watches in central Tokyo.  Eleven years later, he opened a factory called the Seikosha Factory and began building wall clocks and, later, pocket watches.  After an earthquake and fire
destroyed the original factory, Hattori reopened with a new vision, which became the beginning of what we know as Seiko today.  A true pioneer in watchmaking, Seiko developed the first Japanese-made divers’ watch.

The Seiko Prospex Diver SLA047 is a Limited-Edition timepiece with 3,000 pieces produced, featuring a 44mm stainless steel monobloc case with a unidirectional rotating bezel and a sapphire crystal.  The dark green dial features applied lumed hour markers, a lumed handset, and a date window at the 3 o’clock position.  Powered by the Caliber 8L35 in-house movement, the SLA047 features a 70-hour power reserve and a water resistance rating of 300 meters.

This Seiko Prospex Diver 140th Anniversary MarineMaster Limited Edition includes the original box, the warranty card, the warranty/instruction booklet, the movement instruction booklet, the customer receipt, the original Seiko stainless steel bracelet, and the additional dark green Seiko rubber strap with stainless steel buckle.
