Seiko Prospex GMT 1968 Heritage Divers' SPB383, Full Set

Seiko began its rich history in 1881 when Kintaro Hattori opened a shop in central Tokyo, repairing and selling watches.  Eleven years later, he established the Seikosha Factory and began manufacturing wall clocks and pocket watches.  After an earthquake and fire destroyed the original factory, Hattori reopened with a new vision, marking the beginning of what is now known as Seiko.  A true pioneer in watchmaking, Seiko developed the first Japanese-made divers’ watch.

The Seiko Prospex GMT 1968 SPB383 features a 42mm stainless steel case with a sapphire crystal and a unidirectional rotating bezel with a ceramic insert.  The black dial features applied lumed indices, an outer GMT scale ring, lumed sword-shaped hour and minute hands, an arrow-shaped GMT hand, and a needle-style running seconds hand with a red mark near the lumed tip.  Powered by the automatic GMT Caliber 6R54 movement, which allows independent setting of the GMT hand in one-hour increments without disrupting the time-of-day hands, the SPB383 features a 72-hour power reserve and a water resistance rating of 200 meters.

This Seiko Prospex GMT SPB383 includes the outer and inner boxes, the warranty card dated July 2024, the warranty booklet, the instruction booklet, the hang tag, and the original stainless steel Seiko bracelet.
