  • The History:

Founded in 1832 by Auguste Agassiz and his partners, Henri Raiguel and Floria Morel, Longines began producing timepieces in Saint-Imier, Switzerland. In 1852, upon his retirement, Agassiz brought in his nephew, Ernest Francillon, who spearheaded the movement to purchase land for a factory and modernize production.  The factory was built in an area known for its long meadows (les longines), which the company eventually adopted as its name, Longines, in 1867.

  • The Watch:

The Longines Conquest Automatic Ref. 1026 features a 33.5mm x 38mm brushed TV-shaped stainless steel case with an acrylic crystal and a solid, brushed and polished case back.  The silver dial features a linen-style pattern, with applied baton-shaped hour markers, baton-shaped hands, an applied Longines logo and text, and a date window at the 3 o’clock position.  The high-beat automatic Caliber 431 movement powers this timepiece.
