  • The History:

Fortis is one of the few watchmakers in the world that remains, to this day, an independent company with a rich history in Swiss watchmaking. Fortis was founded in 1912 by Walter Vogt. In 1926, Fortis, in collaboration with watch inventor John Harwood, introduced the first automatic watch to go into production, thereby setting the stage for the emergence of major brands on the market today, such as Rolex, Omega, and others. Later, in 1940, Fortis pioneered the way for one of the first water-resistant watches ever built.

  • The Watch:

The Fortis Flieger GMT features a 40mm stainless steel case with a sapphire crystal and an exhibition case.  The black dial features large lumed Arabic numerals, a lumed Red Arrows logo at the 12 o’clock position, a date window at the 3 o’clock position, lumed sword-style hands, an orange GMT hand, and a 24-hour scale in the center of the dial.  The Flieger GMT is powered by an ETA 2893-2 automatic movement with a GMT complication.

  • The Details:

Included with this timepiece is the original stainless steel Fortis bracelet.
