The Sinn 156.1E Limited Edition Chronograph is a modern reinterpretation of one of Sinn’s most beloved military-inspired pilot chronographs, blending vintage aviation aesthetics with contemporary engineering. Limited to just 300 pieces, the 156.1E features a bead-blasted 43mm stainless steel case, Sinn’s proprietary SZ01 automatic chronograph movement with a highly legible central 60-minute counter, and an anthracite-coated captive pilot’s bezel treated with the brand’s hardened TEGIMENT technology. Distinctive details such as the ivory-toned lume and Kollsman-style date window give the watch a strong retro cockpit instrument feel, while modern upgrades like a sapphire crystal and 100 meters of water resistance make it a highly capable everyday tool watch.

  • The History:

Founded in 1961 by flight instructor and former WWII pilot Helmut Sinn, the Sinn Watch Company began developing both pilot chronographs and navigation cockpit clocks.  Helmet Sinn’s mission was to produce timepieces that were durable in extreme conditions.  In 1994, the company came under the direction
of Lothar Schmidt, who has been the driving force behind the engineering and technological advances Sinn has implemented in its watch-making techniques, which continue to this day.

  • The Watch:

The 156.1E features a 43mm bead-blasted stainless steel case with a sapphire crystal and a stainless steel pilots bezel coated with TEGIMENT-hardened anthracite.  The black dial features lumed Arabic numerals, lumed hour and minute hands, a stacked 60-minute stopwatch hand, and a central chronograph hand at the center of the dial, sub-registers at the 6 and 9 o’clock positions, and a Kollsman-style date display at the 3 o’clock position. Powered by the Sinn automatic chronograph SZN01 movement, the 156.1E has a 100-meter water resistance rating.

  • The Details:

This Limited Edition Sinn 156.1E is number 254 of 300 numbered pieces.  Included with this timepiece are the original outer and inner boxes, the owner’s manual, the warranty card, the card holder, the strap changing tools, the additional black leather strap with a stainless steel Sinn deployant clasp, and the original Sinn stainless steel bracelet.
