  • The History:

Seiko began its rich history in 1881, when Kintaro Hattori opened a shop repairing and selling watches in central Tokyo.  Eleven years later, he opened a factory called the Seikosha Factory and began building wall clocks and, later, pocket watches.  After an earthquake and fire
destroyed the original factory, Hattori reopened with a new vision, which became the beginning of what we know as Seiko today.  A true pioneer in watchmaking, Seiko developed the first Japanese-made divers’ watch.

  • The Watch:

The Seiko Prospex Diver SPB147J features a 40.5mm stainless steel case with a unidirectional rotating bezel and a sapphire crystal.  The dark chocolate-colored dial features lumed applied indices with gold-colored surrounds, lumed gold-colored hands, and a date window at the 3 o’clock position.  Powered by the Caliber 6R35 movement, the SPB147J features a 70-hour power reserve and a water resistance rating of 200 meters.

  • The Details:

This Seiko Prospex Diver SPB147J includes the outer and inner boxes, the warranty card, the guarantee, instruction booklets, the original black rubber Seiko strap with a stainless steel Seiko buckle, and the original stainless steel Seiko bracelet.
