  • The History:

The Eterna Watch Company’s origins date back to the 1856 partnership between Dr. Joseph Girard and Urs Schild.  They started a watch movement factory in Grenchen, which produced semi-finished and fully finished movements and innovated the production process by developing automatic manufacturing machines powered by natural stream water and steam engines.  The company’s first fully produced timepiece was released in
1876, with innovative timepieces following, including the first
series-production alarm wristwatch in 1914.

The Eterna Cal 1020H features a 34mm stainless steel case with an acrylic crystal and a solid case back.  The cream-colored dial features applied indices, with Arabic numerals at the 12, 3, 6, and 9 o’clock positions, and a small seconds dial above the 6 o’clock position.  The Eterna is powered by a manual-wind 1020H.

This Eterna Cal 1020H dates to the mid-1940s and includes an aftermarket brown leather strap.
