  • The History:

Bulova was founded in 1879 by Joseph Bulova, an expatriate from the Czech Republic who came to America in 1860 at the age of 9.  The brand quickly gained recognition for its innovative and quality timepieces.  Upon opening a factory in Bienne, Switzerland, in 1912, Bulova continued to push the envelope in technological advances and brand recognition, becoming the first watch brand to advertise on the radio in 1923 and later the first on television in 1941.  

  • The Watch:

The Bulova Accutron Astronaut T GMT features a 41mm stainless steel case with a 24-hour bidirectional rotating GMT split bezel and a partial exhibition case back.  The black dial features a design similar to the original, with hour markers accompanied by lume blocks along the minute track and triangular lume markers between each hour marker.  Powered by the Sellita SW300 automatic movement, the Astronaut GMT features a 56-hour power reserve and a water resistance rating of 100 meters.

This Bulova Accutron Astronaut T GMT is number 78 of 300 numbered pieces.  Included with this timepiece are the original outer box sleeve, the outer box, the inner wood watch case, the metal Limited Edition certificate card with the production number, the Accutron booklet, the Accutron card, the Accutron hang tag, and the original stainless steel bracelet.
