The History:

Bulova was founded in 1879 by Joseph Bulova, an expat from the Czech Republic who came to America in 1860 at the age of 9.  The brand quickly gained recognition for its innovative and quality timepieces.  Upon opening a factory in Bienne, Switzerland, in 1912, Bulova continued to push the envelope in technological advances and brand recognition,
becoming the first watch brand to advertise on the radio in 1923 and later the first on television in 1941.

The Watch:

The MIL-SHIPS-W-2181 features a 41mm stainless steel case with a domed sapphire crystal and a unidirectional bezel that rotates only when pushed down.  The case back features a picture of a deep sea diving helmet in relief with the model and individual production numbers listed.  The black dial features lumed hands and hour markers.  Powered by an automatic Sellita SW200 movement, the MIL-SHIPS-W-2181 has a 41-hour power reserve and a water resistance rating of 200 meters.
