About This Watch:

One of the most recognizable and iconic timepieces produced, the Cartier Tank is a timeless classic. The Tank Solo XL, released in 2012, features a 31mm by 40.85mm stainless steel case with a sapphire crystal and a synthetic sapphire cabochon for the crown. The Solo XL bears all the familiar stylings of the earliest Tank models.

The History: The Cartier brand was founded in 1847 by Louis-Francois Cartier in Paris. In 1904, his grandson Louis developed the brand's first wristwatch at the request of Brazilian aviator Alberto Santos-Dumont. The first design consisted of a flat-faced watch with a square bezel and a simple-to-read dial. The watch was named the Santos and became Cartier's first wristwatch for men.

The Watch: The Cartier Tank Solo XL Automatic Ref WSTA0029 features a 31mm x 40.85mm stainless steel case with a sapphire crystal and a synthetic sapphire cabochon crown. The white dial features Roman numerals, with an inner minute track, a date window at the 6 o’clock position, blued sword-style hands, and the Cartier logo on the “V” leg of the 7 o’clock marking, as well as above the center of the dial. The WSTA0029 is water resistant to 30 meters.

The Details: This pre-owned Cartier Tank Solo XL Automatic Ref WSTA0029 shows some wear on the case, as shown in the photographs. This piece includes the Cartier stainless steel folding clasp and an after-market black leather strap.
