  • The History:

The Eterna Watch Company’s origins date back to the 1856 partnership between Dr. Joseph Girard and Urs Schild.  They started a watch movement factory in Grenchen, which produced semi-finished and fully finished movements and innovated the production process by developing automatic manufacturing machines powered by natural stream water and steam engines.  The company’s first fully produced timepiece was released in
1876, with innovative timepieces following, including the first
series-production alarm wristwatch in 1914.

  • The Watch:

The Eterna Cal 1020 features a 34mm stainless steel case with an
acrylic crystal and a solid case back.  The cream-colored dial features Roman numerals and a small seconds dial above the 6 o’clock position.  The Eterna is powered by a manual-wind 1020 Caliber movement.
