Fortis Spacematic Ref 623.10.158

Fortis is one of the few watchmakers in the world that remains, to this day, an independent company with a rich history in Swiss watchmaking. Fortis was founded in 1912 by Walter Vogt. In 1926, Fortis, in collaboration with watch inventor John Harwood, introduced the first automatic watch to be put into production, thereby laying the groundwork for the emergence of many major brands on the market today, including Rolex, Omega, and others. Later, in 1940, Fortis pioneered the way for one of the first water-resistant watches ever built.

The Fortis Spacematic Ref. 623.10.158 features a 40mm stainless steel case with a sapphire crystal and a signed crown.  The black dial features lumed hour markers, Arabic numerals at the 12, 6, and 9 o’clock positions, a day and date window at the 3 o’clock position, and pencil-shaped hour and minute hands with an orange seconds hand.  Powered by an ETA 2836-2 automatic movement, with a 38-hour power reserve and a water resistance rating of 100 meters.

This Fortis Spacematic Ref 623.10.158 includes the original outer Fortis box, the Fortis wood watch case, the international warranty card, the instruction manual, and an aftermarket black leather strap with a stainless steel buckle.
