  • The History:

Fortis is one of the few watchmakers in the world that remains, to this day, an independent company with a rich history in Swiss watchmaking. Walter Vogt founded Fortis in 1912. In 1926, Fortis, in collaboration with watch inventor John Harwood, introduced the first automatic watch to be put into production, thereby setting the stage for the emergence of many major brands on the market today, such as Rolex, Omega, and others. Later, in 1940, Fortis pioneered the way for one of the first water-resistant watches ever built.

  • The Watch:

The Fortis Stratoliner 20 features a 37mm stainless steel case with an
acrylic crystal and a gold-colored fluted bezel.  The silver sunburst
pattern dial features applied indices, baton-style handset, and a date window at the 3 o’clock position.  The Stratoliner 20 is powered by an ETA Caliber 2472 automatic movement.

  • The Details:

This Fortis Stratoliner 20 includes an original Fortis “beads of rice” style bracelet.
