The Ikepod Chronopod Kickstarter Special Edition debuted in 2019 as a reboot of the brand’s iconic pod-shaped chronograph.  Relaunched through a Kickstarter campaign as part of Ikepod’s revival under new stewardship, the Chronopod was designed by Emmanuel Gueit in the spirit of the original Hemipode aesthetic. The Chronopod features a distinctive 44 mm stainless steel case with integrated lugs and a minimalist dial, powered by a reliable Miyota JS 25 quartz chronograph movement. The Kickstarter-only special edition stands out with bold orange hands, a textured black “dots” dial, and orange-tipped chronograph pushers, combining avant-garde looks which are reminiscent of the brand’s heritage.

  • The History:

Ikepod is a Swiss-based watch company founded in 1994 in Geneva by entrepreneur Oliver Ike and Australian industrial designer Marc Newson, who created its distinctive “pod”-shaped, minimalist timepieces that became cult icons in high-end horology. Early models like the Hemipod helped popularize large, lugless watch designs and positioned Ikepod as a trendsetter in contemporary watch aesthetics.  In 2017, new investors led by Christian-Louis Col revived Ikepod, relaunching it with refreshed designs by Emmanuel Gueit and more accessible movements while retaining the original design ethos.

The Ikepod Chronopod Kickstarter Limited Edition features a 44mm brushed stainless steel case with integrated lugs, a signed crown, and orange-tipped chronograph pushers.  The textured black dial features a dot pattern, lumed hour and minute hands that are outlined in orange, sub-dials at the 3, 6, and 9 o’clock positions, and a date window between the 4 and 5 o’clock positions.  The Chronopod is powered by the Miyota JS 25 Quartz movement.
