Leica ZM2 GMT, Alligator Strap

In 1863, at age 20, company founder Ernst Leitz gained valuable experience working for a Swiss watchmaker. These skills laid the foundation for establishing his own company in 1870, known as Ernst Leitz, which later became Leica. The Leica L2 GMT features a 41mm stainless steel case with a crown that features a shutter-release-style red button, which is used to engage the hacking function by pressing down to engage and disengage. When engaged, the aperture window on the dial adjacent to the crown turns from white to red. Once it is disengaged, the window returns to white. The pusher at the 2 o’clock position is used to advance the date, while the crown at the 4 o’clock position is used to operate the inner rotating bezel. The ZM2 also features a domed sapphire crystal and an exhibition case back. The black dial features applied indices, a small seconds sub-dial at the 6 o’clock position, a date window at the 3 o’clock position, a power reserve indicator at the 9 o’clock position, and a day/night indicator between the 3 and 4 o’clock positions. Powered by the Caliber ZM2 manual wind movement, the ZM2 GMT features a 60-hour power reserve and a 50-meter water resistance rating.

This Leica ZM2 GMT watch received a full service in June 2026 by Leica. Included with this timepiece is the original black alligator leather strap and stainless steel Leica buckle.
