Nomos was founded in 1990 by Roland Schwertner in the town of Glashütte, known for its storied history of fine watchmaking.  Timepieces are designed in Berlin and produced in this small region located in a valley
in the Ore Mountains just outside of Dresden.  

The Nomos Tangente Sport NEOMATIK 42 Date Ref 581 features a 42mm stainless steel case with a sapphire crystal and an exhibition case back, showcasing the in-house Caliber DUW6101 movement with a 42-hour power reserve.  The marine black dial features a sunburst pattern with large Arabic numerals, lumed hour markers, rhodium-plated hour, and
minute hands with sand-colored Superluminova inlay, a date window at the 3 o’clock position, and a small seconds sub-dial with a red seconds hand and red text underneath indicating the 1000 ft water resistance
rating.  

This Nomos Tangente Sport NEOMATIK 42 Date Ref 581 includes the original wood case, two Nomos polishing cloths, the certificate envelope, the manual, and the warranty card, dated to an original purchase date of June 2019. Some wear is present on the bezel, case back, and bracelet, which are visible in the photographs.
