Launched in 1960, the DeVille collection was introduced by Omega as part of the iconic Seamaster series, making its debut as its own dedicated line in 1967. The introduction of a Co-Axial Chronometer Calibre 2628 movement in 1999, which is the movement in this Omega DeVille Co-Axial GMT Ref 4833.50.31 marked a new era for the DeVille series. Known for its refined and elegant aesthetics, the DeVille Co-Axial GMT has COSC certification, making it one of the most accurate timepieces produced.

The History: The Omega Company was started by Louis Brandt in 1848 in Le Chaux de Fonds, Switzerland. Brandt’s sons would later expand the company and began to manufacture their own parts, including their first mass-produced calibre movement, the Labrador, in 1884. They continued their work and made the 19-line OMEGA caliber a decade later, which gave the company its name. After the turn of the century, Omega became the official timekeeper for several sporting events, which led to their eventual selection as the single timekeeper of the Olympic Games in Los Angeles in 1932.

The Watch: The Omega DeVille Co-Axial Chronometer Ref 4833.50.31 features a 38.7mm polished stainless steel case with a domed sapphire crystal. The black dial features applied steel baton hour markers with luminous dots at the outer edge, lumed steel hour and minute hands, a red arrow GMT hand, an inner 24-hour indication tract for the GMT function, and a date window at the 3 o’clock position. Powered by the Co-Axial Calibre 2628 movement, the DeVille Ref 4833.50.31 has a 48-hour power reserve and a water resistance rating of 100 meters.

The Details: This Omega DeVille Co-Axial GMT Chronometer is in very good condition with minor wear on the case, case back, and lugs, all visible in the photographs. This timepiece comes with an outer box, inner wooden presentation case, Omega Co-Axial escapement hang tag, serial number hang tag, the red leather document holder, serial number chronometer warranty certificate, a service center booklet, an original case back sticker, and operating instructions booklet. This timepiece also comes with the original black alligator leather strap with stainless steel Omega deployant clasp.
