Omega Speedmaster 50th Anniversary Limited Edition Box Set

The Speedmaster was introduced in 1957 as a sports and racing chronograph, complementing Omega’s position as the official timekeeper for the Olympic Games.  Its iconic place in history stems from its utilization by NASA for the Gemini Titan III crews and eventually by the astronauts on the Apollo 11 mission, which made it the first watch to be worn on the moon. 

The Speedmaster 50th Anniversary Ref 311.33.42.50.01.001 features a 42mm stainless steel case with a fixed tachymeter scale bezel, a domed sapphire crystal, and an exhibition case back. The dial is black enamel with white baton hands, and the limited edition number is printed under the Speedmaster text and the special vintage Omega logo at the 12 o’clock position. The 50th Anniversary edition is powered by the Caliber
3201 hand-wound movement, which is based on an F. Piguet movement and features a column-wheel chronograph and a Co-Axial escapement, which is chronometer-certified and features a 52-hour power reserve.  The Ref 311.33.42.50.01.001 has a water resistance rating of 100 meters.
