The Omega Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch Ref. 3575.50.00 was one of the longest-running references produced in the Speedmaster line.  Original production began in 1996 and ran until 2014, when it was replaced by the Reference 311.30.42.30.01.005.  When it was introduced, it was the closest in scale and design to the timepieces worn by the Apollo 11 astronauts, with the exceptions being the use of Luminova over tritium and the updated Caliber 1861 movement.

The History:

The Speedmaster was introduced in 1957 as a sports and racing chronograph, complementing Omega’s position as the official timekeeper for the Olympic Games.  Its iconic place in history stems from its utilization by NASA for the Gemini Titan III crews, and eventually by the astronauts on the Apollo 11 mission, which made it the first watch
to be worn on the moon.  

The Watch:

The Omega Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch Ref. 3570.50.00 features a 42mm stainless steel case with a Hesalite crystal.  The black dial features a small seconds sub-dial, a 30-minute recorder, and a 12-hour recorder along with a central chronograph hand.  The black fixed bezel features a tachymeter scale, and the solid case back features the “Flight Qualified By NASA For All Manned Space Missions” engraving as well as the Seahorse logo.  Powered by the manual-wind Caliber 1861 movement, the 3570.50.00 features a 48-hour power reserve and is water-resistant to 50 meters.

This Omega Speedmaster includes the original outer and inner boxes, the original purchase receipt from February 2008, the Omega leather certificate holder, the international warranty card, the pictograms card, the original operating instructions booklet, and the original
stainless steel Omega bracelet.
