Porsche Design Orfina Ref 7177 Military 3H Chronograph (9)

Founded in 1972 by Ferdinand Alexander Porsche, son of the legendary automaker, Porsche Design was born from a desire to design distinctive products following the Bauhaus philosophy that form follows function. Porsche Design's first product was a timepiece known as the Chronograph I. Designed by Porsche, the Chronograph I was built by Orfina and initially released in 1973.

The Porsche Design Orfina 7177 features a 41mm stainless steel PVD-coated case, a mineral crystal, and a solid case back.  The black dial features a raised outer ring with Arabic numerals, lumed hour markers, three sub-dials at the 12, 6, and 9 o’clock positions, a date and day window at the 3 o’clock position, a lumed hand set, an orange chronograph seconds hand, the red 3H designation between the 1 and 1 o’clock positions, and Military and Porsche Design text above and below the day and date windows.  The 7177 is powered by the Lemania 5100 automatic movement.

This Porsche Design Orfina 7177 Military 3H Chronograph includes the original Porsche Design bracelet, which will fit up to an 8” wrist size.  The PVD coating has worn off most of the case, case back, and bracelet, as shown in the photos. The chronograph hour sub register hand has been replaced on this timepiece.
