Seiko 1970s Heritage Divers Watch SPB153

Seiko began its rich history in 1881, when Kintaro Hattori opened a shop in central Tokyo to repair and sell watches.  Eleven years later, he opened a factory called the Seikosha Factory and began building wall clocks and pocket watches.  After an earthquake and fire destroyed the original factory, Hattori reopened with a new vision, which began what we know as Seiko today.  A true pioneer in watchmaking, Seiko developed the first Japanese-made diver’s watch.

The Seiko SPB153 features a 42.7mm stainless steel case with a domed sapphire crystal, a screw-down crown at the 4 o’clock position, and a unidirectional rotating bezel.  The green dial features a sunburst pattern, lumed hour markers, a lumed handset, and a date window at the 3 o’clock position.  Powered by the automatic Caliber 6R35 movement, the SPB153 features a 70-hour power reserve and a 200-meter water resistance rating.

This Seiko SPB153 includes the original outer and inner boxes, the
owner’s manual, the warranty card, the warranty booklet, the hangtag, and a black rubber Uncle strap with a stainless steel buckle.
