  • The History:

Seiko began its rich history in 1881, when Kintaro Hattori opened a shop in central Tokyo to repair and sell watches.  Eleven years later, he opened a factory called the Seikosha Factory and began building wall clocks and pocket watches.  After an earthquake and fire destroyed the original factory, Hattori reopened with a new vision, which began what we know as Seiko today.  A true pioneer in watchmaking, Seiko developed the first Japanese-made diver’s watch.

  • The Watch:

The Seiko SKX007 features a 42.5mm stainless steel case with a hardlex crystal, a screw-down crown at the 4 o’clock position, and a unidirectional rotating bezel. The black dial features large lumed hour markers, a lumed handset, an Arabic/nEnglish-language day wheel, and a date window at the 3 o’clock position.  Powered by the automatic Seiko 7S26C movement, the SKX007 features a 40-hour power reserve and a 200-meter water resistance rating.

  • The Details:
