Seiko Prospex 1970s Diver's "Captain Willard" Re-Interpretation SPB237, Full Set

Seiko began its rich history in 1881, when Kintaro Hattori opened a shop repairing and selling watches in central Tokyo.  Eleven years later, he opened a factory called the Seikosha Factory and began building wall clocks and, later, pocket watches.  After an earthquake and fire
destroyed the original factory, Hattori reopened with a new vision, which became the beginning of what we know as Seiko today.  A true pioneer in watchmaking, Seiko developed the first Japanese-made divers’ watch.

The Seiko Prospex 1970s Divers SPB237 features a 42.7mm stainless steel case with a unidirectional rotating bezel and a sapphire crystal.  The textured grey dial features vintage-colored lumed hour markers and hands and a date window at the 3 o’clock position.  Powered by the Caliber 6R35 automatic movement, the SPB237 features a 70-hour power reserve and a water resistance rating of 200 meters.

This Seiko Prospex 1970s Diver’s “Captain Willard” Re-Interpretation SPB237 includes the original outer and inner boxes, the warranty card, the warranty booklet and instruction manual, the movement instruction booklet, the strap changing instructions, the original hang tags, the original olive green Seiko fabric strap with Seiko stainless steel buckle, and an additional grey Seiko fabric strap with a Seiko stainless steel buckle.
