Seiko began its rich history in 1881 when Kintaro Hattori opened a shop repairing and selling watches in central Tokyo.  Eleven years later, he opened a factory called the Seikosha Factory and began building wall clocks and pocket watches.  After an earthquake and fire destroyed the original factory, Hattori reopened with a new vision, which became the beginning of what we know as Seiko today.  A true pioneer in watchmaking, Seiko developed the first Japanese-made diver’s watch.

The Seiko 5 Sports X Rowing Blazers features a 40mm stainless steel case with a sapphire crystal, a crown featuring the RB monogram between the 4 and 5 o’clock positions, and an exhibition case back with the Rowing Blazers skeleton “Tempus Fugit” (Time Flies) motif.  The white dial features a black outer chapter ring with a 60-minute scale and hour markers with Rowing Blazers’ signature multi-colored croquet strip motif, plus a date and day window that can be set in either English or Japanese at the 3 o’clock position.  Powered by an automatic Caliber 4R36 movement, the Rowing Blazers features a 41-hour power reserve and a water resistance rating of 100 meters.

This Seiko 5 Sports X Rowing Blazers is number 32 of 888 numbered pieces and includes the original pink Seiko NATO strap with a stainless steel buckle.
