Tornek-Rayville Type 7B Blakjak, Full Set

Tornek-Rayville was created by American watch importer Allen V. Tornek in the early 1960s.  During the “Buy American” push, Tornek convinced Blancpain to add “Tornek-Rayville U.S.” to its dials to import a series of Blancpain Fifty Fathoms timepieces for the US Navy in 1962.  The “Rayville” portion of the brand name stems from the American translation of Villeret, the Swiss municipality where Blancpain was founded.  

The Tornek-Rayville Type B Blakjak features a 42.5mm stainless steel case with a black DLC-coated stainless steel bezel insert and a sapphire crystal.  The matte black dial features an inner 24-hour scale, an outer 12-hour scale, a curved chapter ring with a minute scale, lumed
cutouts for the 5-minute markers, a “non-radioactive” symbol, the “Type B” logo, and a day and date window at the 3 o’clock position, with Roman numerals and English text for the day.  Powered by the Seiko SII NH36 movement, the Blakjak boasts a 41-hour power reserve and is water-resistant to 200 meters.

This Tornek-Rayville Type B Blakjak includes the outer Tornek-Rayville watch case, the operating instructions, the serial number release card, a Tornek-Rayville sticker, additional spring bars, an additional Tornek-Rayville rubber strap with stainless steel buckle, an additional
canvas strap, and the original stainless steel Tornek-Rayville bracelet.
