  • The History:

Founded in 1894 by Numa Descombes and Ulysse Peret, the Universal Watch Company began production in Le Locle, Switzerland.  After the untimely passing of Descombes, the company moved to Geneva under the direction of Peret and his new partner, Louis Berthold.  In 1936, the company changed branding to Universal Geneve, with a new shielded logo and several new and historic models, such as the PoleRouter and the Tri-Compax models.

  • The Watch:

The Universal Geneve 864105/01 features a 34mm stainless steel case with an acrylic crystal and a solid case back.  The cream dial is textured, with applied baton hour markers, and a small seconds crosshair pattern dial at the 6 o’clock position.  A manual-wind Caliber 64 movement powers this timepiece.

  • The Details:

This Universal Geneve 864105/01 dates to the late 1960s and includes an aftermarket brown leather strap.
