Vertex M100B Limited Edition, Full Set 005/150

Founded by Claude Lyons in London in 1912, Vertex built its reputation on robust timepieces using Swiss movements, and the company was formally established in Hatton Garden and La Chaux-de-Fonds in 1916. Its military legacy became central to the brand, particularly during World War II, when Vertex was the only British-based member of the famed “Dirty Dozen” group of twelve manufacturers commissioned to supply the British military with watches meeting demanding W.W.W. specifications. The company continued producing watches and importing Swiss timepieces until it closed in 1972 amid the quartz crisis. In 2015, Lyons’s great-grandson, Don Cochrane, revived Vertex, introducing the M100 in
2016 as a modern tribute to the legendary Cal 59 military watch and reestablishing Vertex as a distinctive name in British horology.

The Vertex M100B features a 40mm DLC-coated stainless steel case with a sapphire crystal.  The black dial features raised lumed Arabic numerals, a railroad-style minutes track, two red dots at the 12 o’clock position, a small seconds dial at the 6 o’clock position, and syringe-style hour and minute hands.  The M100B is powered by the manual-wind ETA 7001 movement, with a 42-hour power reserve and a 100-meter water resistance rating.

This Vertex M100B is number 5 of 150 numbered pieces produced, and includes the original waterproof Pelican watch case, the owner’s manual, the warranty card, the original personalized letter from Don Cochrane, the original red NATO strap, the original black NATO strap, and the original Black Vertex rubber strap, all with DLC-coated buckles.
