Vintage Baume & Mercier with Caliber 1050 Movement

Baume & Mercier was founded in 1830 by Louis-Victor Baume and his brother Pierre-Joseph Celestine Baume near Jura, Switzerland. Beginning with pocket watches, the brothers quickly built a reputation for quality watchmaking and moved their operations to London, a major hub for international expansion.  They began production of high-complication pieces such as chronographs, calendars, tourbillons, and minute repeaters towards the end of the century, winning multiple awards for their work.

This vintage Baume & Mercier timepiece features a 25.5mm square-shaped steel case with fixed wire lugs, a cabachon-style crown, and a raised, squared acrylic crystal.  The white dial features a railroad-style minute track, Roman numerals, and leaf-style hands.  This timepiece is powered by a 17-jewel Caliber 1050 movement.

This vintage Baume & Mercier timepiece appears to have an unpolished case, with patina on the dial that is consistent with a timepiece of this age.  Included with this timepiece is an aftermarket brown leather strap.
